Finish

  • Constructed of solid pine and ash veneers
  • Seven-step nitrocellulose lacquer finishing process
  • 1st step - We apply varnish that closes the grain
  • 2nd, 3rd - Nitrocellulose lacquer coats, (the vintage lacquer developed in the 1930s). We buff coats between applications
  • 4th step - We apply tinted, antiquing glaze
  • 5th step - We wet-sand the edges back to the natural mahogany color and then re-tint the edges
  • 6th step - We apply a protective 65% to 70% gloss varnish coating
  • 7th step - We finish with beeswax and carnauba wax for more shine
